Can It Be Fixed?

Is it me or does just about every politician who enters Washington D.C. seem to check their common sense at the door?

Admittedly, I am not a Constitutional Scholar or somebody who keeps on top of every single detail of what comes out of D.C. on a daily basis but come on! Am I the only one who thinks that raising taxes, bailing out “too big to fails” and extending entitlements is the EXACT opposite of what this country needs?

How does raising taxes encourage business to hire more people? Sell more product? Expand into new markets?

How does bailing out companies that obviously forgot how to add 2 + 2 help our economy?
Restore confidence in our country or let companies know that they must balance their books and do honest business?

How does extending entitlements instill an honest work ethic into the people in this country? How does 2 years of unemployment compensation motivate a person to do whatever it takes to feed their family?

How does making the working public pay for health benefits for the unemployed, unemployable and the illegal make Joe Citizen want to work harder and better himself?

Here’s a novel idea: end entitlements completely, lower taxes, decrease government spending and let companies that aren’t profitable fail!

What do you think would happen?

Yes the first couple of years after this was enacted would tumultuous! Yes it would be difficult for awhile but you know what…NOBODY PROMISED US THAT LIFE WOULD BE EASY!
When I was downsized and then my business failed I didn’t go crying to the government telling them to pay my mortgage, feed my kids and give me a job! I got out there and went to work doing a job that I was WAY, WAY overqualified for because it put food on the table. I went from $45 an hour with full benefits to $8 an hour with no benefits.

This country was founded by people who worked their butts off and didn’t expect or want anything handed to them. They expected things to be hard, they expected things to go wrong and they expected to be killed for their beliefs. THEY DID IT ANYWAY!

We are too soft, we are too whiny and we are to dependent on the stinking government to give us what we want even though we aren’t willing to do the work to get it ourselves.
There are millions of Americans out there working 80, 90 or 100 hours a week to support themselves and their families and make a better life for themselves. The American Dream is still alive, it just got buried by all the crap coming out of the mouths of our politicians.

You want lower taxes…work your butt off, become your own boss and use every tax advantage that exists for business owners!

You want unemployment insurance…make a couple of million dollars and invest it at a 5% return.

You want free healthcare…build a huge business and have your company pay for it.

You want small government…stop electing greedy, boot-licking idiots into office!
I don’t know about you but all I want from my government is to get out of my way and let me live my life!

No more useless laws, no more bloated bureaucracy, no more 6 figure retirement plans for getting elected, no more healthcare for lazy people and no more bailing out big companies!
And don’t talk to me about the Democrats vs. the Republicans…they are basically the same = USELESS and corrupt.

Give me an honest, hardworking person who doesn’t want to be there but is willing to sacrifice for the good of the country and I will gladly vote for him/her!

Here’s how you know if it’s the right person:
1. They renounce or donate 100% of their salary
2. They renounce their retirement package
3. They DO NOT allow their spouse to have a 50+ person entourage
4. They kick all of the special interest groups out of D.C.
5. They hire business people from the private sector to run the business of government and not some political bootlick

That would be a start at least!

Until Next Time…
