The Dumbing Down Of Americas’ Youth

Have you heard about something the Federal Government is pushing into our Education System called Common Core?

Federal law prohibits the U.S. Department of Education from requiring any school curriculum, but in this case they figured out a clever way to evade the letter of the law. Any states that do not follow along don’t get to share in a pool of $4.35 Billion in Federal Funding. It is so typical of this administration. How many times now have we heard, “If they won’t pass it I’ll just make an Executive Order?” Actually we’ve only heard it once or twice, but it’s been done at least a dozen times in the last 4 years.

I have recently been hearing about this new fiasco. Education historian Diane Ravitch has recently come out strongly against Common Core read about it here,  and you will find many posts about it on her blog here.

On the National Review Online site you can read Michelle Malkin‘s article about another negative aspect of Common Core.

And here is a 16 minute video segment that Glenn Beck did about Common Core today.

It’s time to educate yourself before your children are forced into this and it is too late to change it. This is YOUR responsibility. Don’t let this be another instance of ‘passing the bill before anyone has read it’ like what happened with ObamaCare. In case you have forgotten: Nancy Pelosi on Health Care: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
