The ‘What Every Boy Needs To Know About Being A Man’ Speech

When was the last time you saw a REALLY good movie? How about a GREAT one? I am a huge movie fan, and love them all. But in the final analysis there simply aren’t that many that I would classify as GREAT.

So how about a flick that has it all: action, romance, laughs, tears, a moral, heroes, and is equally suitable for people from 10 to 90 years of age? I am sure we can agree that the movies fitting that description make a pretty small list. I’m talking about Secondhand Lions from 2003.

And , yes – I want you to watch it. And if you can, watch the ‘extras’ on the DVD (or whatever) to learn the background story too. Enough said. All this introduction is to get you to the clip below. What it has to say is just too important to risk your missing it – so I HAD to get it out to you.

Remember this: “Your life is yours alone. Rise up and live it.” (Terry Goodkind) And make sure your children know it too.

  1. Joyce Zoumas says:

    Great movie.

  2. C says:

Boy, is it ever. I never try to name my ‘favorite movie’ when asked, any more than I could name my favorite book. There are just too many.
But I will say this – there are only a few movies that I would (and have) watched more than 4 times and would not hesitate to watch again at anytime. Second Lions and Swiss Family Robinson are two of them.

Thanks Joyce – Keep those Comments coming!
