Is It Too Late For America?

As I have mentioned in other posts – some of my friends feel that the Greatness of America lies only in the past. That the direction recent leadership has taken us has put us on the ‘slippery slope’ and that the decline is unstoppable.

Well, you know me. I am an incurable optimist, and while I am often discouraged, I feel “where there is life, there is hope.” We are not done yet – not by a long shot.

I have been a big fan of Glenn Beck for a couple of years, and our attendance at his “Restoring America Conference” in Washington D.C. in 2010 served to solidify that. But he seems so very negative sometimes! The thing is: if you really listen, he is working at exposing things we may not see (many are being internationally hidden from us) in the belief that when we know the truth we can move toward the correction of any problems.

The 17 minute video clip below explains exactly why there is hope for America and hope for those of us that believe that. I agree 1000% with his reasoning, Like him or hate him, you should watch this and see if perhaps you agree too.

 

The future of the United States of America is in our hands, not in the hands of our ‘leaders.’ Why? Because the responsibility falls squarely upon “We the People” who ultimately are in control of America.

In grade school all the children of my generation, and those before and after memorized the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln. Let me here remind us all of the final statement of the Gettysburg Address:

It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Is your voice being heard? Is our “representative government” serving your beliefs? The current administration promised no more special interests, an end to back room deals, and transparency of government. It has not done anything but continue those policies while blaming it all on the ‘others’ and the ‘previous administration.’ “We the People” have relinquished control. It is time to take it back.

Equal rights: equal rights & responsibilities, equal to all, not special for some.

Enforcement of law: all the laws on the books enforced equally on all, rich, poor, or connected. If you don;t like the law – change it, according to law.

Are there in equities in the system? Yes. But it is still the best system that exists in the world today, or has ever existed in the world anywhere at any time. Have we screwed up? Yes. Done wrong? Yes. But we have created more, done more good, and come further than any other group has – ever. But now, in the name of ‘change’ and fixing our errors they want to “throw out the baby with the bathwater.”

Now is the time for “carpe diem.” Now is the time for us to “Seize the day.”
