Why is the Economy Screwed Up?

If you are anything like me, you look around at what is going on with the US (and others) economic situation and wonder. And worry.  As the government says things are swinging back to the good – all daily experience points the other way.

Why did none of those ‘in the know’ see this coming? Let’s face it, our troubles didn’t just start with the current administration. So, that being the case…..Why have our saviors in Washington made things worse rather than the positive “CHANGE” we were promised?

Mortgage foreclosures and bankruptcies reach new heights every quarter while unemployment and the unreported under-employment set records. But no one saw it coming and we are told that the steps we observe making things worse are the way out.

Someone is either lying or at the very least, n0t in the know. My research points to a combination of both. There are some who benefit when others fail. And they continue to promote the failed economic policies of certain schools of thought to continue that benefit.

The issue is way too complex to cover it well in this medium. But if you want to learn the policies and decisions that have created our troubles (now, and in the past re: The Great Depression) then you must read Meltdown by Thomas E. Woods Jr.

Don’t buy the book. Read it. Study it. Learn from it. The link above will take you to Amazon, where you can purchase it, but you can get it in book or audio format from the Public Library too. Check it out.

Question things for yourself. Our country was founded on the Principle that we are supposed to question those in authority to keep them honest. We need to know the Truth before there is any chance is really changing anything. We need to question before that Right slips away from us too.
